Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B1) - Line

About the role

The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) is looking for a permanent, full-time B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Line) to join its Mount Isa team. The Engineering team provides 24/7 maintenance and defect rectification support to keep the fleet safe, compliant and ready, and the role is based at the new Mount Isa Aeromedical Hub, co-located with LifeFlight. The roster is friendly with minimal call-outs and after-hours work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled line maintenance in line with operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot and rectify defects arising during daily operations.
• Participate in the local on-call roster when required.
• Provide ground support to crews and aircraft.
• Support third-party maintenance requirements as required.
• Maintain safe storage and management of parts, tools and materials.
• Inspect and rectify Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

Required profile

• B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer qualification.
• Experience maintaining turboprop aircraft, relevant to the RFDS fleet types.
• Sound knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Valid, unrestricted Australian driver's licence and ability to obtain an ASIC card.

• Up to $160,000 base salary plus superannuation.
