Lending Specialist - Private Bank

About the role

ANZ's Business & Private Bank is hiring a Lending Specialist in Brisbane (Level 17, 111 Eagle Street) within its Private Client Division. This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) position focused on retail lending, supporting the delivery of Private Bank's retail growth strategy while maintaining asset quality.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and negotiate retail lending transactions, engaging early with the deal team so risks are identified and mitigated before approval
• Sponsor deals through credit risk, ensuring risks fall within the bank's risk appetite
• Deliver client service for non-complex to complex retail transactions, ensuring fulfilment and settlement occur on agreed timelines
• Prepare high-quality credit papers covering counterparty strength, industry analysis, financial analysis and collateral analysis for new and existing clients
• Support coaching of lending and frontline banking teams and help develop a strong lending and risk culture

Required profile

• Strong experience in banking or financial services, preferably in a lending capacity (retail or wholesale)
• Proven experience in financial analysis, evaluating lending transactions and writing credit risk papers
• Ability to exercise mid-level credit approval discretion on retail or wholesale loan applications
• Stakeholder management and influencing skills, and developing communication skills with end customers
