Legal Counsel - Contract Management

About the role

Deloitte is looking for a Legal Counsel in contract management, based in either Melbourne or Sydney, to help shape how the firm manages contractual risk across major technology and transformation engagements. The role sits in the Contract Management team within the Office of General Counsel, a national practice that works with commercial legal, Quality and Risk and the business to support engagement teams through the full lifecycle of technology and transformation work.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside engagement teams on large technology and transformation programs while also advising on a range of smaller matters across the firm.
• Help teams interpret key contractual obligations and manage contract governance processes.
• Spot risks early so they can be addressed practically and commercially.
• Contribute to better contract outcomes for Deloitte and its clients.
• Strengthen the tools, templates and processes supporting a growing technology-enabled practice.
• Work closely with commercial lawyers, Quality and Risk and stakeholders across the business.

Required profile

• 2-5 years of post-qualification experience as a commercial lawyer.
• Experience interpreting, managing or advising on commercial contracts.
• Exposure to technology contracts or technology-enabled engagements is helpful but not essential.
• Confidence working with business stakeholders, internal teams and project leaders.
