Legal Counsel - ANZ

About the role

Fiserv, a global leader in Fintech and payments, is hiring a Legal Counsel for its ANZ business. The role provides legal advice across contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property, data privacy, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and employment matters, and supports commercial negotiations, dispute management and legal documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to management on business decisions, contracts and regulatory implications
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company law and other applicable statutes
• Identify legal and regulatory risks, develop mitigation strategies and run compliance programs
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents
• Liaise with regulators for filings, audits and responses to notices
• Develop and improve legal templates and precedents, and enhance legal operations
• Advise on product design, distribution and lifecycle management, and on regulatory requirements
• Set up internal policies promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct
• Oversee legal disputes, litigation and arbitration, coordinating with external counsel as needed
• Run employee training on legal and compliance requirements
• Build monitoring frameworks for senior management on compliance status and legal risks
• Assist with mergers and acquisitions activities in the region

Required profile

• Internationally recognised law degree with an active Australian law licence
• 6+ years of legal advisory experience in technology, payments, banking or fintech
• 6+ years drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal documents
• 6+ years managing legal disputes and regulatory compliance
• Proven track record as a lead negotiator and strong collaboration with stakeholders at all levels
