Senior Legal Counsel - ANZ

About the role

JDE Peet's, now part of Keurig Dr Pepper, is seeking an accomplished, commercially minded legal leader to join its Leadership Team as Senior Legal Counsel, ANZ. As the most senior Legal, Advocacy and Governance leader across Australia and New Zealand, you will advise the General Manager and Leadership Team on strategy, growth, transformation and enterprise risk, while protecting the company's reputation and ensuring strong governance across two complex, highly regulated FMCG markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Legal, Advocacy and Governance function across Australia and New Zealand.
• Advise the General Manager and Leadership Team on strategy, growth opportunities, transformation and enterprise risk.
• Support the integration and continued development of the ANZ cluster.
• Oversee legal and compliance frameworks, investigations, litigation, regulatory matters and governance requirements.
• Provide strategic legal guidance on commercial agreements, key customer relationships, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, marketing and technology, working closely with sales and marketing teams.
• Monitor regulatory and geopolitical developments and help the business respond to emerging risks.
• Manage external counsel, budgets and legal resources to deliver efficient, scalable and commercially focused support.

Required profile

• 5-10 years' experience in senior legal leadership roles within complex multinational organisations, preferably FMCG.
• Proven expertise leading legal, compliance, ethics and risk management activities across multiple countries and jurisdictions.
• Strong track record advising executive leadership teams, including sales and marketing teams, and aligning legal strategy with business growth.
• Experience managing complex cross-border matters, including regulatory engagement, investigations, litigation, crisis management, competition, privacy, marketing laws and product claims.
• Experience supporting business transformation, restructures, integrations, acquisitions and divestitures will be highly regarded.
