About the role
The Australian Maritime College (AMC) at the University of Tasmania is seeking a full‑time Lecturer in Maritime Engineering. Based in Launceston, you will join the Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics (CMEH) to teach, conduct research and engage with industry partners.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate coursework in naval architecture, ocean engineering and related subjects.
- Design, set up and supervise physical scale‑model experiments in the towing tank and model test basin.
- Develop and update curriculum, laboratory sessions and project‑based learning activities.
- Secure external research funding, publish findings and supervise higher‑degree research students.
- Participate in CMEH and AMC committees, contribute to strategic planning and support student recruitment.
Required profile
- PhD in naval architecture, ocean engineering or a closely related discipline, or clear progress toward completion.
- Demonstrated ability or strong potential for university‑level teaching and learning.
- Record of nationally recognised research with contributions to maritime engineering.
