Lecturer in Psychology (Level B)

About the role

The School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University is seeking a full-time, continuing Lecturer (Level B) to contribute to teaching and research in Psychology. The role involves developing, designing and delivering units in accredited undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses, and growing a research track that aligns with the school's strengths. The position is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents and people currently residing in Australia with full working rights; applications close on 5 November.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to unit development and teaching in accredited undergraduate and postgraduate psychology courses.
• Deliver and manage teaching content, lectures, tutorials and assessments, face-to-face and online.
• Teach applied psychology areas such as psychological assessment, evidence-based therapeutic approaches and counselling, as well as social, personality and developmental psychology.
• Create an engaging and inclusive learning experience for undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts.
• Conduct research aligned with the school's priorities, secure competitive research funding, publish in Q1-ranked journals and supervise coursework and HDR students.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent tertiary qualification in Psychology.
• Current registration as a practicing psychologist with AHPRA.
• Strong research track record, including research grants and peer-reviewed publications, compatible with the school's research strengths.
• Demonstrated experience teaching evidence-based assessment and therapeutic approaches, including counselling skills across the lifespan.
• Experience teaching in social, developmental, personality and/or health psychology.
• Quality research student supervision (e.g. Honours).

Required skills

• Design and delivery of online and face-to-face content, lectures, tutorials and assessments.
• Experience with educational technology, blended learning and educational innovation.
