Lecturer - Community Services

About the role

Acknowledge Education is looking for a sessional, full-time Lecturer in Community Services to join its Sydney academic team. The role suits experienced community services professionals who want to share their knowledge with the next generation. You will teach into the Bachelor of Community Services, helping students connect theory with real-world practice.

Key responsibilities

• Teach lectures and tutorials in the Bachelor of Community Services
• Mark assessments and provide feedback
• Support students at risk
• Maintain student records
• Contribute to ongoing improvement in teaching practice

Required profile

• Postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or a closely related field
• At least 2 years' full-time experience in the community services sector
• Background in case work, social work, youth work, psychology, counselling, community welfare or a related field
• No previous teaching experience required

Required skills

• Strong understanding of community services theory and practice
• Confidence presenting, teaching or facilitating groups
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
