Learning Enhancement Teacher

About the role

Fintona Girls’ School is seeking a passionate Learning Enhancement Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs across primary and secondary levels. Working closely with the Learning Enhancement Leader, teachers, parents and external specialists, you will help students develop confidence, independence and effective learning strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify student learning needs using diagnostic and standardised tools.
• Plan, implement and evaluate evidence‑based intervention and extension programs within an MTSS framework.
• Develop, monitor and review Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and Learning Enhancement Plans (LEPs).
• Analyse achievement data, including NAPLAN and PAT results, to inform support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and specialists to implement learning adjustments and support the NCCD process.
• Provide specialist advice and mentoring to teachers and facilitate enrichment for high‑potential students.
• Work directly with individual students and small groups to develop learning skills, confidence and independence.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualifications and current VIT registration.
• Experience supporting students with a range of learning needs, including high intellectual potential and EAL.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills.
• Genuine passion for inclusive education and student growth.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of literacy and numeracy intervention programmes.
• Ability to analyse assessment data and develop targeted interventions.
