Learning and Capability Partner
AbbVie · Sydney
Job description
About the role
AbbVie is looking for a Learning and Capability Partner in Sydney to connect business strategy with the capabilities its people need to deliver it. This is not a traditional L&D role: you will become a trusted partner with commercial leaders, National Sales Managers and in-field teams, diagnosing real performance needs and creating practical solutions that strengthen leadership, customer engagement and execution.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to understand strategic priorities and capability gaps, turning enterprise in-field team capability priorities into focused business capability plans.
- Embed enterprise capability frameworks in the business, strengthening insight-led decision making, customer planning, quality customer interactions and execution excellence.
- Own and manage the capability plan for assigned business areas, tracking priorities, interventions, progress and impact.
- Strengthen National Sales Managers' ability to lead, coach and develop their teams, embedding capability development in everyday performance conversations and field coaching.
- Use business insights and performance data to identify root capability needs and design practical learning interventions, not just training.
- Design and deliver engaging learning experiences that turn strategy and frameworks into practical skills and behaviours.
- Support leaders in applying new capability through coaching, tools and practice before and after learning.
- Define and track measures for capability initiatives, assessing adoption, behaviour change and business impact.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences or a related field.
- Demonstrated impact in pharmaceutical sales, learning and development or commercial operations, with an understanding of in-field team performance and customer engagement.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with business unit managers, National Sales Managers and in-field teams and to influence at all levels.
- Experience designing, delivering and embedding learning programs that drive sustained behaviour change.
- Experience measuring and reporting on capability initiatives, including use of CRM systems and reports.
Required skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret business insights and performance data.
- Coaching and leadership development capability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and stakeholder management.
