Leading Hand - Paste Plant

About the role

Bellevue Gold operates its 100% owned high-grade gold mine in Western Australia, with underground mining since late 2020 and a renewable energy power station supporting its net-zero target. This permanent full-time Leading Hand role supports ground stability and production continuity by coordinating paste delivery between the surface paste plant and underground locations, controlling flow, pressure and density/solids, and leading and coaching paste fill operators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead by example in promoting safety values, standards and behaviours
• Coordinate and supervise shift activities in the paste plant to achieve production targets safely and efficiently
• Monitor batching, mixing, pumping and reticulation systems, ensuring paste fill meets quality standards
• Conduct workplace inspections and risk assessments, and report hazards and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with site procedures, environmental requirements and statutory obligations
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to paste plant operators and other team members
• Assist with workforce planning, shift handovers and task allocation, and help the Paste Plant Supervisor with operational planning
• Coordinate routine inspections and basic maintenance, liaising with maintenance teams on equipment issues
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports and production data, and participate in incident investigations
• Support training and competency development, and keep communication open with underground operations, technical services and maintenance

Required profile

• 3-5+ years' experience as a Leading Hand
• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor (S26) qualification
• Previous metalliferous processing experience desirable
• Ability to manage small crews and to train and mentor paste crew members
• Understanding of general underground mining operations
