Lead, Workers Compensation Claims

About the role

IAG (CGU), a leading commercial, rural and personal lines insurer and top-three provider of workers compensation insurance, is looking for a Lead, Workers Compensation Claims within its intermediate Insurance Australia Business (IIA). The role is based in Boorloo (Perth) and is a permanent full-time position. You will lead, coach and develop a team of claims professionals, bringing together people leadership, technical expertise and a focus on customer outcomes to build a high-performing, supportive team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Workers Compensation Claims professionals to deliver strong customer, people and business outcomes.
• Foster a supportive, high-performing team culture where people feel empowered, engaged and motivated.
• Drive operational performance by managing workloads, monitoring results and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Partner with fellow leaders to share resources, solve challenges and ensure consistent service across the broader claims function.
• Support team capability through regular coaching, feedback and career development conversations.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver positive and sustainable claims outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience leading, coaching or mentoring others in a claims or insurance environment.
• Strong Workers Compensation claims knowledge and a commitment to quality outcomes.
• The ability to build trust, develop capability and bring the best out of people.
