Lead Surveyor

About the role

As a Lead Surveyor in Aurecon's Geospatial team, you will work from the Brisbane office on projects that shape Queensland's water, transport, defence, energy, environment and industrial infrastructure. You will guide clients through survey and spatial requirements from concept to delivery while leading a team of surveyors.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on survey and spatial requirements for complex engineering projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve technical challenges and manage design risks.
• Deliver high‑quality survey data and advice that inform project decisions.
• Contribute to resilient and innovative engineering solutions.
• Apply advanced analytics and optimisation to large datasets to enhance performance.
• Lead, mobilise and manage a team of surveyors.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualifications and surveying experience.
• Surveyors Board of Queensland Registration (highly valued) and a Cadastral Endorsement or desire to obtain one.
• Proven track record of delivering practical, impactful outcomes.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to see the big picture, challenge assumptions and travel within Queensland as needed.

Required skills

• Surveying (including cadastral surveying).
• Geospatial analysis and data handling.
• Advanced analytics and optimisation techniques.
• Experience working with large datasets.
