Lead Data Analyst – Retail Brand

About the role

A Swedish-born global retail brand is creating a new Lead Data Analyst position in Sydney, within its ANZ insights and analytics team. The team covers fulfilment and inventory, competitor strategy, forecasting, commercial and pricing analytics, new product development, store activations, web measurement and customer insights, and has a clear roadmap for how data drives value. The role works closely with the Head of Insights and Analytics to bring the data strategy to life.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the data analytics agenda for the ANZ business, champion the use of data across the organisation and show clear commercial value to stakeholders and the Executive Team.
• Lead and mentor a team of three Data Analysts, with no formal people management responsibility.
• Write complex SQL queries, build and deploy Power BI dashboards, work across BigQuery and Python, and drive AI adoption and governance.
• Work with business stakeholders to uncover use cases and surface the most valuable data sources.
• Partner with the Research and Insights Leads so that outputs translate into action.

Required profile

• Career progression from Data Analyst to Lead Analyst level.
• Multinational client-side experience.
• Proven experience influencing cross-functional teams.
• Ability to translate technical complexity into clear, accessible business language.
• Down to earth, curious and collaborative, a natural problem solver who leads with ideas and develops people around them.
• Only Australian Permanent Residents and Citizens will be considered.
