Lead Architect (Integration)

About the role

This contract position (initially to May 2027) is for an experienced Integration Architect to define and govern the target‑state integration and modern development landscape across a complex hybrid environment. You will work closely with multi‑disciplinary architecture and delivery teams to establish reusable patterns, standards and repositories that ensure resilience, security and long‑term digital capability.

Key responsibilities

• Define current, target and transition states for integration and development architectures and produce a prioritized implementation roadmap.
• Build and govern core architectural artefacts such as the integration catalogue, API registry, interface matrix and platform inventory.
• Establish reference architectures, design guardrails and standards for SAP Integration Suite, SAP BTP and Microsoft Azure Integration Services.
• Deliver a governed pattern catalogue covering synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, event‑driven architectures, batch processing and managed file transfers.
• Lead architecture reviews, create architecture decision records and guide delivery teams to embed secure‑by‑design, resilient and observable practices.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in enterprise integration, APIs, middleware, messaging and event‑driven platforms across SAP, Microsoft Azure and SaaS environments.
• Deep technical expertise in SAP Integration Suite, SAP BTP and Azure Integration Services (API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Functions).
• Proven ability to define API lifecycle, versioning, discoverability, streaming, CDC and batch patterns with strong security and observability.
• Strong knowledge of cloud‑native development, Git‑based delivery, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, automated testing and infrastructure as code.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications (TOGAF, Azure, SAP) are highly desirable.
