Laboratory Technician – Occupational Hygiene

About the role

Eurofins is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its Occupational Hygiene team. The role is primarily laboratory‑based with occasional field work, supporting sample preparation and analysis to deliver high‑quality results for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, sort and prepare occupational hygiene samples according to SOPs.
• Perform routine laboratory analyses such as gravimetric dust measurement, respirable crystalline silica, diesel particulate matter, acid digestion for metals, and PM2.5/PM10 monitoring.
• Calibrate, maintain and clean laboratory equipment and sampling instruments.
• Conduct field sampling for airborne fibres, respirable dust and other workplace air quality parameters.
• Ensure traceability, meet turnaround times and comply with ISO 17025, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Required profile

• Certificate, diploma or relevant qualification in laboratory techniques, science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Previous laboratory experience with strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Gravimetric analysis of respirable and inhalable dust.
• Respirable crystalline silica analysis.
• Diesel particulate matter analysis.
• Acid digestion for metals analysis.
• PM2.5, PM10 and total suspended particulate analysis.
• Equipment calibration and maintenance.
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory requirements.
