Key Account Manager - Workers Compensation

About the role

CGU, part of Insurance Australia Group (IAG), is recruiting a Key Account Manager for its workers compensation business. The role helps build strong, long-term partnerships that support safer workplaces and better customer outcomes, working in a collaborative, high-performing team. It is a permanent full-time position based in Melbourne, Sydney or Perth.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with brokers and policyholders through consistent, personalised account management.
• Manage and grow a diverse portfolio by driving retention, improving underperforming policies and developing broker plans and new business.
• Partner with Underwriting, Claims and Broker teams to deliver seamless customer experiences.
• Use workers compensation expertise to support underwriting, pricing and claims management.
• Advocate for the portfolio internally and reduce non-core activities.
• Deliver service that supports fair complaint resolution and strengthens loyalty.

Required profile

• Experience in insurance or similar client-facing roles, ideally with workers compensation or commercial insurance.
• Confidence engaging stakeholders, including senior leaders, brokers and complex customer groups.
• Strong industry knowledge and the ability to balance improvement initiatives with customer needs and regulatory requirements.
• Experience developing strategic engagement and service plans that drive growth and retention.

• Clear, confident communication, able to tailor messages for varied audiences, including executives.
• Commercially sound decision-making and stakeholder influence.
