Junior to Mid Level Technical Sales Representative - Scientific Instruments

About the role

A leading global manufacturer of scientific and analytical instruments is looking for a Junior to Mid Level Technical Sales Representative to join its Sydney team. The role suits an early-career professional with a background in science, engineering or a related technical field who wants to develop a career in technical sales. It is a full-time permanent position based in New South Wales, with work from home anywhere in NSW.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and promote the company's scientific and analytical instruments
• Support customers by understanding their needs and recommending suitable products
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
• Visit customers and assist with product demonstrations alongside the engineering team
• Prepare quotations and follow up on sales opportunities
• Work with technical support and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction
• Identify new business opportunities and update customer records and sales activity in the CRM system
• Attend trade shows, seminars and industry events
• Travel within Australia to meet customers

Required profile

• Degree or qualification in Electric and Mechanical or Mechatronics, Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology or a related technical discipline
• Experience or exposure to electron microscopy, analytical instruments or mining-related instrumentation is an advantage; previous sales experience is not required
• Full Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel
