Junior Sous Chef or Sushi Chef de Partie

About the role

Nobu Sydney, a restaurant within Crown Sydney, is looking for experienced culinary professionals to join its team as either a full-time Junior Sous Chef or a Sushi Chef de Partie. As a Junior Sous Chef you lead service, support kitchen operations, mentor team members and maintain the high standards of the Nobu brand. As a Sushi Chef de Partie you bring strong experience in sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine.

Required profile

• For Junior Sous Chef: previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a premium dining environment
• For Sushi Chef de Partie: previous experience as a Sushi Chef in a premium restaurant or luxury hospitality environment
• Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and develop kitchen teams
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences

Required skills

• Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP and quality standards
• For Sushi Chef de Partie: excellent knife skills and experience preparing sushi, sashimi, nigiri and seafood, plus knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques and presentation standards
• Sound understanding of HACCP and food safety practices
• Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency
