About the role
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Demand Planner to join our team in Melbourne, Australia. In this role, you will support the demand planning function by analyzing market trends, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to accurate demand forecasts. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in supply chain planning while working with experienced professionals in a dynamic organization.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends to support demand forecasting and planning activities
- Collect, organize, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assist in developing and updating demand forecasts using established methodologies and tools
- Monitor inventory levels and identify opportunities to optimize stock positioning
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align demand plans with business objectives
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to track demand planning metrics and performance indicators
- Support the identification and implementation of process improvements within the demand planning function
- Maintain and update demand planning systems and databases with current information
- Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews to present findings and recommendations
- Respond to ad‑hoc requests for data analysis and reporting from stakeholders
Required profile
- 1‑3 years of experience in supply chain, operations, planning, or related business functions
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Solid understanding of demand planning principles, forecasting methods, and inventory management concepts
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis capabilities
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Knowledge of statistical analysis or forecasting software
