Joint Professor of Allied Health Research (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The University of Canberra, in partnership with Canberra Health Services, seeks a visionary leader to fill a Joint Professor of Allied Health Research position. This fixed‑term role (until 30 June 2028) will drive transformational research, bridge academia and public health, and enhance clinical outcomes across the ACT.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the translation of allied health research into clinical practice to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across the university and health services, building national and international partnerships.
• Develop and manage externally funded research programmes, maintaining a strong personal research profile.
• Contribute to strategic planning, mentor staff, and strengthen research capability within the allied health workforce.
• Represent the University of Canberra and Canberra Health Services in senior internal and external forums.

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification in a relevant allied health discipline.
• Eligibility for AHPRA registration or equivalent professional membership.
• Internationally recognised leader with a proven record of high‑impact research and academic standing.
• Background in one or more allied health areas such as Exercise Physiology, Nutrition & Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Clinical Psychology, or Medical Imaging.
