Java Technical Lead (6‑month contract)

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Java Technical Lead for a maximum six‑month contract to design, build and support integration services that connect healthcare and enterprise systems. The role focuses on delivering secure, reliable interfaces and APIs using HL7 v2, FHIR and other healthcare interoperability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver compliant healthcare integration services using FHIR, CDA and HL7 v2.
• Implement enterprise integration patterns with Java, Apache Camel and Apache Kafka, leveraging SOAP/REST APIs and JSON/XML data formats.
• Collaborate with Platform and DevOps engineers to create automated CI/CD pipelines and manage code under GitOps frameworks across Linux and Windows cloud‑native environments.
• Champion software quality through unit, integration and API testing with JUnit, Bruno and performance testing with Apache JMeter.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and documentation within Agile/Scrum teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing healthcare integration solutions using industry standards.
• Expert‑level Java engineering skills and proven leadership in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Australian citizenship and baseline security clearance.
