IT Support Engineer - Remote Operations & Connectivity

About the role

Fugro is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join its Perth‑based team, providing L1/L2 support for the Remote Operations Centre that enables vessel and offshore survey activities across the APAC region.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver hands‑on L1/L2 IT/OT support for the Remote Operations Centre, ensuring stable systems and connectivity.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve incidents, acting as an escalation point for complex remote‑operations issues.
• Perform scheduled maintenance such as patching, software updates, endpoint support and system audits.
• Assess and enhance remote‑operations systems by identifying performance issues and supporting solution implementation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation, including inventory, system diagrams and network schematics.
• Collaborate with global teams, vendors and operational stakeholders to deploy solutions and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Tertiary degree in IT, Engineering or related field with knowledge of networking fundamentals.
• Solid L2 IT/OT support experience in operational or remote sites such as marine, energy or mining.
• Experience with network troubleshooting, system monitoring tools, alert triage and adherence to runbooks.
• Strong understanding of endpoint security, identity/access management and incident response in a global support environment.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel regionally to vessels and ROC locations as required.
