IT Support Engineer, Operations

About the role

Amazon is hiring an IT Support Engineer for its Operations team, working out of the Jandakot fulfilment centre in Perth. The role keeps the technology running at operational sites across Australia, supporting the systems behind logistics from warehouse floor to customer doorstep. You will work a rostered Monday to Friday schedule, with a shared on-call rotation.

Key responsibilities

• First-level technical support for the operations of the fulfilment centre, covering many technical disciplines and supporting multiple buildings in the area.
• Allocate and maintain IT equipment and manage several customer requests at once.
• Troubleshoot IT equipment such as PCs, wireless handheld devices, thin clients, printers and other end-user devices.
• Handle the return merchandise authorization (RMA) and repair process for devices under warranty.
• Learn new technologies and take part in career development opportunities within the IT network.

Required profile

• 1+ year of experience supporting Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems in a corporate setting.
• Experience troubleshooting integrated and interdependent computer systems.
• Experience maintaining Zebra thermal printers and troubleshooting thin clients, PCs, scanners and portable handheld terminals.
• High school or equivalent.

Required skills

• Preferred: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Red Hat), Microsoft hardware installation, AWS or other industry-relevant certifications.
• Preferred: experience in a dynamic environment with a high degree of customer service.
