IT Asset Analyst

About the role

The IT Asset Analyst supports the end-to-end management of more than 44,000 assets across St Vincent's Health Australia's healthcare, research and aged care environment. The role sits in the Digital & Technology group, reports to the Head of End User Compute and Assets and works with specialists who implement and mature IT Asset Management (ITAM). It covers end-user devices, mobile fleets, medical peripherals and licensed software.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full asset lifecycle, keeping data accurate, complete and compliant, and represent the ITAM function with Finance, Procurement and Cybersecurity.
• Support ITAM implementation in the ITSM platform, especially the Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules, and help keep the CMDB accurate.
• Work with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Procurement and Finance on device provisioning, mobile fleet administration, licensing compliance and cost transparency.
• Onboard new devices, help with licensing transitions, run process improvement initiatives and write supporting documentation.
• Track cost centre allocations, depreciation, software consumption and cost recovery, and advise on cost optimisation.
• Keep asset records audit-ready, apply security classifications, link assets to vulnerability management platforms and support audits and cyber incidents.
• Run day-to-day tasks such as provisioning, tagging, stock handling and disposal, and support service requests and change processes.
• Advise on ITAM improvements, automation and dashboards, and document standard operating procedures.
