iOS Engineer – AI Model Evaluator

About the role

Mercor is looking for an iOS Engineer to work as an AI Model Evaluator. You will use cutting‑edge AI coding agents to review and assess mobile code generated by frontier models, ensuring it meets production standards. This is a remote contract position offering flexible hours.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage AI coding agents (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI) to complete and evaluate complex engineering tasks.
• Review model‑generated iOS code for correctness, quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in model outputs.
• Compare outputs from multiple frontier models and assess their strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic mobile engineering scenarios.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional iOS engineering experience.
• Experience building and maintaining production iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS frameworks.
• Regular use of AI coding agents for development tasks.
• Ability to evaluate model‑generated mobile implementations and architectural decisions.

What we offer

• Contract rate of $85 per hour.
• Additional $400 per accepted task (typical tasks take 2–3 hours after ramp‑up).
