Investment Specialist – Managed Portfolio Business Development

About the role

This remote position based in Victoria supports advisers across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, helping them achieve client outcomes through Morningstar’s managed portfolio solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive net flow and FUM growth by acquiring new adviser relationships and expanding existing partnerships.
• Strengthen adviser engagement through education, relationship management and proactive issue resolution.
• Represent Morningstar’s investment capabilities at meetings, conferences, webinars and industry events.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert on investment philosophy, managed portfolio solutions and market views.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product and Investment teams to identify growth opportunities and provide market feedback.
• Develop and deliver presentations, market updates and thought‑leadership content.

Required profile

• Proven success in investment management, managed accounts or wealth‑management business development with a track record of converting adviser relationships into revenue and asset growth.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate adviser needs into solution‑based outcomes.
• Experience working with managed accounts, model portfolios or investment platforms.
• Ability to build credibility and influence with advisers, practice owners and investment committees.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics or related field; CFA or postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
• RG146 certification and unlimited working rights in Australia or New Zealand.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of asset allocation, portfolio construction and manager analysis.
• Excellent presentation, public speaking and written communication abilities.
• Ability to convey complex investment and behavioural finance concepts to financial advisers.
