Investment Data Analyst

About the role

Marsh is looking for an Investment Data Analyst to join its People and Investments Data team. The role is based in Melbourne (Docklands) or Sydney (Barangaroo) and is a hybrid position with at least three days a week in the office. It is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities

• Provide analysis and data support for the Investment Data management project implementation and the ongoing operational framework.
• Manage and analyse Investment Data feeds, liaise with internal and external data providers and offer subject matter expertise across a wide range of data types and asset classes.

Required profile

• Degree-level qualification in finance, economics, mathematics or a related analytical discipline.
• Experience in investment data analysis at a multi-asset class investment manager or superannuation fund.
• Solid understanding of investment, custody and financial market data, instruments and data feeds.
• Strong knowledge of investment markets, asset classes and instrument types.
• Experience with system implementation and testing activities.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate confidently with investment professionals and senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated teamwork, goal orientation, good judgment and a collaborative work style.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel, VBA, SQL and relational databases, and analytical/reporting systems.
• Nice to have: exposure to data management systems and experience with ETL tools.
