Intermediate/Senior Accountant

About the role

Pitcher Partners is looking for an Accountant to join its Private Business & Family Advisory division, which focuses on pharmacy clients. The role sits within a dynamic, collaborative team where you will receive mentorship and deliver taxation, financial and business advisory services. It suits an experienced accountant with a strong background in business services who wants to grow their career with a sophisticated client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and take part in complex accounting and taxation engagements
• Act as a regular point of contact for clients, delivering consistent, high-quality service
• Work as part of a team with Managers and Partners to achieve client success

Required profile

• Accounting degree in a business or commerce major
• Experience in a business advisory environment
• Ability to understand client needs and provide excellent client service
• Experience preparing GST, FBT and payroll tax returns
• Experience with accounting and tax compliance, including financial statements, tax reconciliations, income tax returns and tax effect accounting for companies, trusts and tax consolidated groups
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and collaborate with the team
• Australian citizenship or a current valid Australian work visa

Required skills

• Common accounting software such as MYOB and Xero, and larger enterprise products (an advantage)
• Comprehensive Microsoft Excel skills and ability to handle large datasets
• Strong oral and written communication
