Integration Engineer - Naval Combat Systems

About the role

Saab Australia is expanding its Naval Systems Delivery Group and is recruiting Integration Engineers to help deliver Australia's advanced naval combat systems. You will work in multidisciplinary engineering teams integrating, configuring and validating mission-essential, safety-critical software on the Saab 9LV Combat Management System, collaborating with software developers, systems engineers and test specialists. The role involves travel to customer sites for system installations and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate software into Linux-based integration and test environments
• Configure and maintain virtual machines, servers and networking infrastructure
• Deploy and support containerised applications using Docker
• Troubleshoot software, infrastructure and integration issues
• Develop automation scripts
• Support Test Readiness Reviews, Integration Testing and System Testing
• Support customer system installation and troubleshooting
• Produce integration documentation and technical procedures
• Maintain Jira tasks, effort estimates and defect records

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
• Australian citizenship
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1 or higher)
• Eligibility to access ITAR-controlled information

Required skills

• Linux administration and IP networking
• Docker and virtualisation technologies
• Version control tools such as Git, Bash or Python scripting
• Ansible, Agile software development and systems integration
• Defence or safety-critical software; understanding of DDS and IBM DOORS
• Atlassian tool suite and test automation frameworks
