Intake Officer / Administration Officer

About the role

Amplar Health Home Hospital, part of the Medibank Group, is seeking expressions of interest for Intake Officers to start in the new year. The role works closely with the clinical team, service providers, clients and families to make sure client care and service issues are acted on. It is a mix of administrative and telephone support, with three shifts (7am-3pm, 10am-6pm and 2pm-10pm) across a 7-day roster.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for new and existing clients and families, referrer enquiries, general phone enquiries and service enquiries.
• Receive, document and escalate concerns raised by clients, referrers, providers or other stakeholders.
• Keep the referrer, client and provider database up to date.
• Deal promptly with queries.
• Process referrals from Local Health Networks, hospitals, GPs, nurse practitioners and residential aged care facilities, updating systems and responding within expected timeframes and KPIs.
• Carry out other administrative duties related to client service delivery or the Virtual Care Centre as requested.

Required profile

• Previous administration and customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.
• South Australian Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness and eligibility to obtain them).
• Willingness to provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations if asked.

• Proficiency in MS Office and use of a range of databases.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Attention to detail, organisation, proactive problem solving and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Stakeholder management and relationship building.
