Insurance Compliance Team Lead

About the role

RACQ Insurance, which became a long-term strategic partner of IAG in September 2025, is offering a 12-month maximum secondment as Insurance Compliance Team Lead, based in Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane. You will guide a small team and play a central role in strengthening the compliance framework while integrating with IAG. The role suits people who enjoy variety, influence and hands-on leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of Compliance Advisors to deliver high-quality compliance activities
• Provide first-line compliance advice and help business leaders understand obligations and risks
• Coordinate RACQ's regulatory responses to APRA, ASIC and CGC and ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Monitor regulatory changes and work with the business to assess impacts and recommend actions
• Oversee compliance plans, root cause analysis and assurance checks to strengthen the control environment
• Support the integration of IAG policies, processes and systems across key compliance activities
• Use insights and data to identify opportunities for improvement and uplift compliance capability

Required profile

• Experience in compliance, risk, audit or governance roles within financial services or insurance
• Confidence giving practical, hands-on compliance advice and supporting decision-making
• Leadership experience, able to coach others and guide a team through change
• Strong judgement, with the courage to ask questions, challenge respectfully and speak up
• Ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and solve problems together
• Curiosity and analytical strength; comfort in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
