Insolvency Accountant Supervisor/Manager & Intermediate Accountant – Sydney

About the role

SME Restructuring is looking for two full‑time, on‑site professionals in Sydney: an Insolvency Accountant Supervisor/Manager to lead case teams and client relationships, and an Intermediate Insolvency Accountant to support case work and develop expertise under senior mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor junior staff, delegate tasks and ensure quality delivery of insolvency reports.
• Manage client relationships, communicate case progress and provide strategic recovery advice.
• Prepare and review financial statements, financial reports and compliance documentation for voluntary administrations, liquidations and other restructuring processes.
• Assist in office administration and contribute to business development initiatives.
• For the intermediate role: participate in case preparation, draft reports, and learn insolvency procedures from senior accountants.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in insolvency, restructuring or business recovery (preferred for supervisor/manager).
• Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory compliance in accounting and insolvency.
• CPA, CA or ARITA qualification (or working towards completion) is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
