Infrastructure & Systems Engineer – 6‑month contract

About the role

Centorrino Technologies is seeking an Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to join its Staff Augmentation team in Australia on a 6‑month contract. The role provides Level 2/3 technical expertise across Microsoft 365, Azure and on‑premises infrastructure, acting as the primary escalation point for complex issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support and escalation for Microsoft 365, Azure and on‑premises services.
• Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams and Entra ID.
• Manage Azure resources such as virtual machines, networking, storage and identity services.
• Maintain Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Support VMware and/or Hyper‑V virtualization platforms.
• Configure and troubleshoot network devices including switches, routers, firewalls and VPNs.
• Monitor infrastructure health, identify risks and resolve performance or availability issues.
• Assist cybersecurity operations by responding to incidents and applying security best practices.
• Perform patching, upgrades and vulnerability remediation across server and cloud environments.
• Manage backup and disaster‑recovery solutions, including testing and recovery readiness.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate routine administration tasks.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles and SOPs.
• Collaborate with vendors and third‑party providers to resolve issues.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to the on‑site ICT resource when required.
• Participate in after‑hours support for critical incidents and planned maintenance.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvement projects and technology initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Level 2/3 Infrastructure or Systems Engineer role.
• Strong background administering Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID).
• Hands‑on experience managing Microsoft Azure infrastructure and services.
• Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V virtualization platforms.
• Understanding of networking concepts and equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN).
• Ability to respond to security incidents and apply remediation measures.
• Experience with patch management, vulnerability remediation and disaster‑recovery processes.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
