Infrastructure Specialist – Intelligent Transport Systems

About the role

The Infrastructure Specialist ITS is a technical position within the Transport Assets and Operations team, responsible for managing the IT and OT infrastructure that supports Brisbane’s Intelligent Transport Systems and the Metropolitan Traffic Management Centre. You will work in a real‑time, safety‑critical environment to ensure reliability, performance and security of critical transport networks.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer ITS and BMTMC infrastructure systems and applications.
• Provide timely end‑user support, troubleshoot issues and coordinate with vendors.
• Deliver secure, best‑practice infrastructure and application solutions, including upgrades.
• Monitor systems to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and investigate incidents.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and be on‑call for after‑hours emergencies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in server and hardware administration within distributed networks.
• Strong background in customer‑focused technical support and independent work.
• Proven ability to develop and implement operating plans for production ITS environments.
• Excellent communication, consultation and negotiation skills.
