Industry Principal – Appian Architect (Sydney)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Consulting Partner – Appian & Process Automation (Financial Services) who will lead and grow the strategic Appian and Process Automation portfolio for a designated Financial Services client in Sydney. The role involves acting as a trusted advisor to client executives, driving business growth, identifying transformation opportunities, and ensuring successful delivery of Appian‑led solutions that create measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

• Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders and act as executive advisor for Appian, workflow automation, AI‑driven process transformation, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Own revenue growth, profitability and expansion of the Appian services portfolio within the client account, developing and executing multi‑year transformation programs.
• Create and maintain a qualified pipeline of Appian, BPM, workflow automation, case management, intelligent automation and AI‑led opportunities, leading workshops, value discovery sessions and deal negotiations.
• Lead discovery assessments, process diagnostics and value‑stream analyses, translating client challenges into solution strategies and transformation roadmaps.
• Provide executive oversight for Appian programs, ensuring delivery excellence, governance, risk management and customer satisfaction.
• Strengthen strategic relationships with Appian and ecosystem partners, championing emerging technologies such as Agentic AI, Intelligent Document Processing, Process Mining and Hyperautomation.
• Mentor consulting leaders, architects and account teams, building consulting and solutioning capabilities aligned to market demand.

Required profile

• 15+ years of overall technology experience.
• 5+ years in Appian Architecture or CTO advisory roles.
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong Financial Services domain expertise across banking, wealth, payments, lending, risk, operations or customer service.
• Deep understanding of Appian, BPM, workflow automation, case management and intelligent automation platforms.
• Proven track record of growing strategic client accounts and leading multi‑million‑dollar transformation programs.
• Demonstrated success in executive stakeholder management, consulting‑led sales and large‑deal pursuits.
