Industrial Technical Support Specialist

About the role

Volvo Penta, part of Volvo Group Australia, is looking for an Industrial Technical Support Specialist to develop the Volvo Penta Dealer Network in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and the Northern Territory. The role covers technical support, competency development, warranty and campaigns, service agreements, customer satisfaction and parts growth. It reports to the Head of Mobile Power Solutions Oceania and can be based in the Perth or Gold Coast offices.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for mechanical, electrical and electronic faults in the Volvo Penta Oceania service network
• Manage and administer Argus service requests
• Audit and supervise warranty and campaigns according to company guidelines
• Improve dealer performance using Vodia, Warranty UCHP and Argus systems
• Promote the full product offer, including Parts & Product Management, Service Agreements, Price Management and Aftersales
• Build strong relationships with key customers and dealer networks
• Carry out service market audits across the dealer network
• Run customer satisfaction surveys, compile monthly reports and analyses, and oversee unit registrations
• Assist with dealer training and provide onsite technical support

Required profile

• Trade qualification in automotive, construction or marine
• Experience in the heavy vehicle technical sector; industrial or marine engineering experience desirable
• Experience building relationships with dealers
• Excellent communication, presentation and computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
• Data analysis, strategic planning and target-setting abilities
