Indigenous Affairs Mentor & Community Liaison Officer

About the role

Sodexo is seeking an Indigenous Affairs Mentor & Community Liaison Officer to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees across its operations. The role provides mentorship, advocacy and culturally safe guidance to help employees achieve personal and professional goals.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff through site visits, mentoring sessions and culturally safe "yarns".
• Provide individualized coaching, career development planning and goal‑setting support throughout the employment lifecycle.
• Connect employees with internal and external wellbeing, health and community resources.
• Collaborate with operational leaders, HR, Learning & Development and other stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
• Promote Sodexo's Reconciliation Action Plan initiatives and engage with Traditional Owners, Elders and community organisations.
• Deliver cultural awareness and capability‑building initiatives to employees and leaders.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and contemporary issues.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, community engagement or similar people‑focused roles.
• Ability to establish trust, build meaningful relationships and provide culturally responsive support.
• Confidence presenting and facilitating discussions with diverse audiences.
• Current National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain) and a valid Australian driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
