ICU Technician

About the role

Calvary Mater Newcastle is recruiting a casual ICU Technician. The role sits under the Anaesthetic/Operating Theatre Technician salary classification and pays $35.05 per hour plus superannuation, annual leave loading and salary packaging options. It involves patient transport and support, equipment maintenance and stock management in the Intensive Care Unit.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of safe and courteous patient transport and patient support
• Maintain and clean ventilators and other equipment
• Maintain stock levels within the Intensive Care Unit
• Assist with direct personal care, including lifting, positioning and transferring patients to diagnostic radiography or between wards

Required profile

• Recent experience assisting with the care and maintenance of ventilators, dialysis machines and other medical equipment
• Experience with direct personal care of patients, including lifting and positioning
• Experience transferring patients between wards and to diagnostic radiography (CT/MRI)
• Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Unlimited working rights in Australia
• Successful completion of pre-employment checks (references, work rights, criminal history, WWCC) and evidence of required immunisations
