Registered Nurse – Medical Oncology

About the role

The Medical Oncology Registered Nurse provides safe, evidence‑based, patient‑centred care to people with cancer across the continuum of care, from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.

Key responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other systemic anti‑cancer therapies in accordance with the Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course (ADAC) certification.
• Manage venepuncture, peripheral intravenous cannulation and central venous access devices (CVAD) for patients.
• Support patients and families through symptom management, survivorship planning and end‑of‑life care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse authorised to practise in Australia by AHPRA.
• Minimum two years post‑registration experience in acute medical oncology or a related clinical specialty.
• Current ADAC certification and demonstrated competence in chemotherapy administration.
• Ability to work calmly in a fast‑paced environment, managing competing priorities while ensuring patient safety.

Required skills

• Antineoplastic drug administration (ADAC certified).
• Venepuncture, peripheral IV cannulation, and CVAD management.
