Hydraulic Technician

About the role

Babcock is looking for a Hydraulic Technician in Woodville North to refurbish, test and maintain critical hydraulic and mechanical equipment that supports high-integrity Defence capability. Working in a specialised workshop, you will support the Lead Technician and Workshop Manager in meeting operational targets, maintaining workshop equipment, managing clean room activities and keeping accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Refurbish, strip, survey, clean, troubleshoot and test hydraulic and mechanical equipment
• Complete all work according to established procedures, quality standards and customer requirements
• Support the Lead Technician and Workshop Manager in achieving operational targets
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, assist with training and mentoring and take part in special projects

Required profile

• Qualified tradesperson with a strong mechanical background and extensive experience refurbishing hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Further training or certificates in hydraulics are highly regarded
• Understanding of quality processes applied to high-integrity defence assets
• Current 'C' Class driver's licence
• Eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1)

• Fault diagnosis and problem solving
• Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and IFS
