HV/LV Electrician

About the role

Service Stream's Defence division is looking for qualified HV/LV electricians to join its Property and Asset Services team on a long-term contract (initial 6-year term) at RAAF Tindal. These are permanent full-time positions offering work-life balance. The role covers the safe and efficient operation, maintenance and repair of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems across multiple sites or bases; there is plenty of work even if you are currently only qualified for LV, and the employer is open to supporting you to gain HV certification.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on HV and LV electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and issues, resolving them promptly.
• Install and commission electrical systems in line with relevant standards and regulations.
• Work with the EU Supervisor to coordinate and prioritise tasks and projects.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, inspections and repairs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
• Take part in training and development, and look for ways to improve processes and efficiency.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience with HV or LV electrical systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair electrical faults.
• Experience keeping accurate records and documentation.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in an electrical environment.
• Relevant trade qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.
