HVAC Project Manager – Tier 1 Contractor

About the role

A leading Tier 1 mechanical services contractor delivering major commercial construction projects across Melbourne is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager. With a strong pipeline of secured work, the role offers ownership of complex mechanical packages within an established project delivery team, working alongside builders, consultants and subcontractors. It suits an established HVAC Project Manager looking for high-value projects, experienced leadership and long-term progression.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of commercial HVAC and mechanical services projects, from design coordination through to commissioning and handover.
• Own project budgets, forecasting, procurement, variations and overall commercial performance.
• Coordinate design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to meet milestones.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, identify risks and implement solutions.
• Oversee installation of mechanical services to specification, Australian Standards, safety requirements and quality expectations.
• Manage client and builder relationships as the key point of contact.
• Lead project meetings, monitor progress and report regularly on programme, cost and delivery.
• Drive a strong safety culture and coordinate testing, commissioning, defects management and handover.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in commercial HVAC or mechanical services.
• Track record delivering mechanical packages in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction environment.
• Experience managing budgets, subcontractors, procurement, variations and construction programmes.
• Solid technical understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical services installation and commissioning.
• Knowledge of Australian construction practices, standards and site safety requirements.
• Strong commercial acumen, risk management, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead project teams; experience in major commercial developments, healthcare, education, high-rise or data centres is highly regarded.

What we offer

• Salary of $170,000 - $200,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
