HV Electrician - Mining Equipment

About the role

Komatsu Australia is seeking an experienced HV Electrician to join its Queensland mining operations team, based in the Blackwater region. You will apply your electrical expertise to support the reliability of Komatsu mining equipment, working on large-scale mining machinery such as haul trucks, loaders and excavators.

Key responsibilities

• Support electrical maintenance, diagnostics and fault-finding across Komatsu mining equipment
• Identify and resolve complex electrical issues using technical manuals, schematics and diagnostic procedures
• Assist with planned maintenance, inspections and equipment repairs
• Record diagnostic results and maintain accurate technical documentation
• Work closely with mechanical tradespeople and technical specialists
• Ensure all electrical work meets safety standards, procedures and legislation
• Contribute to equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives

Required profile

• HV Electrician trade qualification
• Experience with heavy mobile mining equipment
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals and OEM specifications
• Commitment to electrical safety, isolation procedures and safe work practices
• Good communication skills, able to work independently and in a team
• Must hold or obtain Queensland coal mining medical and induction requirements

Required skills

• Electrical fault-finding and diagnostics
• Preferred: experience with Komatsu 930E haul trucks, WA1200 loaders or large excavators
• Preferred: dual trade qualifications in electrical and mechanical disciplines, OEM technical training, Standard 11, S1/S2/S3 and G2 qualifications
