HV Electrician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HV Electrician to join the Maintenance team at Dawson Mine in Moura, Queensland. This permanent, full‑time position works on a 7‑on, 7‑off day shift in the Dawson South Workshop, supporting heavy mobile equipment and plant electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and timely repairs on heavy mobile equipment.
• Carry out electrical inspections of open‑cut equipment and fixed plant systems, diagnose faults and repair electrical equipment and field devices.
• Execute testing & tagging, electrical isolations/lockouts, and statutory inspections of safety devices in line with site SHMS procedures.
• Maintain accurate records, housekeeping and compliance with statutory, safety, health, budget and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• QLD Electrical License and relevant Electrical Trade Certification.
• Manual C‑Class Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Experience in electrical maintenance within mining or heavy industrial environments.
• Knowledge of PLC‑controlled equipment and systems.

Required skills

• HV Switching qualification (desirable).
• Experience with Komatsu 830E and 930E equipment (highly regarded).
• Basic understanding of SAP maintenance systems (desirable).
• Testing & Tagging, electrical isolation and lockout procedures.
• Statutory inspection and testing of safety devices.
