HSE Advisor - Defence Program

About the role

Babcock is looking for an HSE Advisor for a significant, high-profile Defence program in Henderson. This is a permanent, full-time position in a Defence sector environment that requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. You will support and enhance the Health, Safety and Environment function of a critical Defence program, helping to manage and maintain the Anzac Fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in HSE planning, implementation, assurance and advisory activities, aligned with Company, Customer and legislative requirements
• Focus on safety risk management in construction environments and on managing subcontractors
• Handle environmental management and permitting requirements to control and mitigate program risks
• Help develop, implement and assure the Henderson Health, Safety and Environment Management Plan (HSEMP)
• Advise on safety risk management in construction, and on environmental management and permitting for construction activities

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in HSE or a related discipline
• Strong experience in safety risk management in construction environments
• Environmental management expertise, including permitting and compliance, and knowledge of relevant environmental legislation
• Experience working with subcontractors and multiple stakeholders
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for a Defence security clearance

Required skills

• Experience with auditing, compliance monitoring and reporting
• Familiarity with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2016
• Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
