HR Operations Consultant

About the role

The HR Operations Consultant will join the HR Operations and Partnering Branch of South Australia Police, providing expert HR consultancy and advisory services across recruitment, onboarding, vacancy and contract management. This full‑time, fixed‑term position (up to 24 months) supports the delivery of efficient HR processes and contributes to a healthier, high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on recruitment, onboarding, vacancy management and contract administration.
• Interpret and apply SAPOL workforce policies, ensuring compliance with HR legislation.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation and simplification of HR processes and systems.
• Support the Manager HR Operations in leading the HR operational team.
• Deliver consistent, timely HR guidance to internal customers and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Current Australian work eligibility and ability to undergo a criminal history check.
• Demonstrated experience in HR consultancy within a public sector or large‑scale organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to undertake occasional out‑of‑hours work and travel.
