HR Generalist – People & Culture

About the role

Best & Less is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join its People & Culture team. You will partner with leaders and team members across a fast‑paced retail environment, delivering practical, people‑focused solutions throughout the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely HR advice on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters and workplace investigations.
• Support conflict resolution and ensure fair, balanced processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and compliance with Australian employment legislation.
• Assist with policy reviews, workforce reporting, HR metrics and people insights.
• Contribute to HR projects, identify process improvements and support the rollout of new people programs and systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within retail or other fast‑moving environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills and the ability to partner with leaders at all levels.
• Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
• Highly organised with the capacity to balance multiple priorities.
