HR Driver – Waste Collection (Temp-to-Perm)

About the role

A leading waste management and environmental services provider serving the Mackay and Moranbah regions is looking for an experienced HR driver. The role is advertised as casual with an ongoing temp-to-perm opportunity, Monday to Friday, 5:00am to 1:00pm, with overtime when required. The base rate is $45.45 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Operate HR waste management vehicles safely and efficiently across Mackay and Moranbah
• Carry out residential, commercial and/or industrial waste collection
• Complete scheduled collection runs safely and on time
• Use vehicle-mounted waste collection equipment and its controls
• Do pre-start checks and report vehicle or equipment faults
• Ensure waste is collected, transported and disposed of according to company procedures and safety requirements
• Complete paperwork, documentation and collection records
• Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and presentation
• Follow site, road, environmental and workplace health and safety requirements

Required profile

• Current HR drivers licence
• Previous experience driving HR vehicles, preferably in waste management, logistics, transport or a similar field
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Reliable transport and a strong attendance record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening, if required

Required skills

• Ability to safely operate vehicles and waste collection equipment
• Good communication skills and a professional approach to customers and the public
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
