HR Coordinator and Senior HR Advisor

About the role

The City of Rockingham is recruiting HR professionals for its Human Resource Development team, supporting a large, diverse workforce. The opening covers two roles: an HR Coordinator leading one of four teams, and two Senior Human Resource Advisor positions working with business areas. The position is full-time (about 38 hours per week); part-time (minimum 24 hours per week) is considered. Applications close on 16 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a People Plan that helps employees grow professionally and personally and perform at a high level
• Maintain a policy framework that meets the needs of the City and its workforce
• Support the employee experience from recruitment through to departure
• Enable work areas to reach their goals through business partnership, workforce planning and staff development
• Handle union engagement, industrial bargaining and employee relations (performance, grievances, discipline) under WA industrial relations law
• Provide strategic and operational advice while meeting compliance and legislative requirements

Required profile

• Strong generalist HR experience or experience in a specific HR discipline; recruitment/talent acquisition experience highly regarded
• Experience applying HR knowledge across a large, diverse workforce
• Tertiary qualification in an HR-related discipline, or currently studying towards one, highly desirable but not essential

What we offer

• HR Coordinator: $111,967-$119,224 per year; Senior HR Advisor: $102,707-$110,461 per year, depending on skills and experience
